Default iPod2Car Interface

Anybody using one of these? I bought it, hooked it up to the back of the radio and it will charge the IPOD but the radio will not switch over to the IPOD? It is charging the IPOD. It mentioned something about a AUX button to change between the CD,Radio, and IPOD but my radio only had CD/PLAY. Anyone got any info on this. Thanks

You don't have "Function" button? Wait, is this using the FM transmitter?

What radio are you trying to use? If it's the stock Monsoon and you have an early 1998 CD head unit, this will not work. You need a late 98 or newer CD head unit OR a tape head unit with the CD changer control.

Actually. the change was made in mid-99. You need a late 99 or newer single CD head unit (or any year cassette head unit) in order to control an external device such as a CD changer, iPod, satellite radio, etc. Your 02 should work fine.

The AUX button they talk about is labeled CD/Play in the Firebirds. If there is a CD inserted in the head unit then you press once for the CD and press again to switch to the external device.

You got me there Whitebird. I don't know what was on my mind. Didn't even catch that he had an 02.

Should never have responded to a technical question so early in the morning.

I do have an 2002 and I have tried hitting the CD/PLAY button several times both with a cd in there and without. Still will not work, it just charges.
