Alpine Type R sub in the hole in the hatch

6.5 Infinity Kappa Components in front doors
6.5 Kappa coaxials in the rear

Infinity 600x1 for sub
Infinity 600x4 for rest of speakers

All completely rewired in top of the line monster cable. One of the most clean sounding stereos I've built. I don't go for the hugely expensive stuff, just fairly inexpensive, good quality.

i went to best buy the other day and i heard the new rockford fosgate t162c coaxials, and they sounded pretty bad ***, you can get them for around 85 on ebay, im running a rockford 10" dvc sub in a stealthbox and it really hits, enough so i can feel it in the back of my seat. right now i only have pioneer 4 way speakers up front which arent bad but i think would be better for rear hatch speakers, so im probably going to get the rf speakers and put them up front and move the pioneers to the rear.

Ive also heard the alpine at good guys and they sound pretty good too, but they can run you alittle bit more.

I've been considering a self-contained, self-powered sub (Infinity, etc.) for the rear to work with the factory Monsoon system... curious to know how your swap-out worked out. Thanks!
Is about the same unless you seal off some of the panel behind the sub. I had to do some cutting to get them in there. I have pics at home I need to post up on this.

Here is what I have

6 1/2 Kappa components in the front doors
6 1/2 Coax's in the rear pillars
2 10 Dual Voice Coil Kappa's in the back

Got rid of the speakers in the back.

Running everything off of a 6 channel Infinity Reference Amp

I love my (mostly) Infinity system. Using a Sony HU with Kappa Perfect components up front, Sony amped Kappa 6.5" 2 way midranges in the middle (wired off of the HU), and Kappa 4" 2 ways in the rear wired in parallel, with a Fosgate 10" sub and Sony amp. They have plenty of thump if you give them enough power and break the surrounds in for a while, while still emphasizing the mid and highs. These things can really produce a piercing sound if you want. If you were to just replace the fronts and hatch and keep your stock HU, IMO you could have a decent sound for pretty cheap. Just check ebay for deals. Another thing to look into are the Infinity Reference series as they perform better on lower powered systems.
Just my 2 cents

I just replaced all of my speakers yesterday with alpine. Componets in the front(6.5), 6.5 in the mid sectionof the car and 4'' in the rear. It sounds pretty good, but i think i need to run a amp.

I bought the Rockford Punch series components from bestbuy and put 5way Pioneer 6x9s in the hatch area. Took a L7 and placed it in a stealth box. They sound alright, I'm satisfied. However, I plan to sell the component system and 6x9's and put MBquarts all around. I heard them at goodguys and damn those are beautiful. With a damn ugly price, 500 for a set.

I put some kenwood 2 way's up front ( the ones you can get at best buy right now for like $70) and put some Infinity 3 ways in the rear.... replaced the backseat ones with a JL audio sub made for just that kind of thing(little free air sub made for in side panels)

Factory radio and cd player still in it(thtas the next upgrade ...LOL) sounds great

Well since your not wanting to spend alot on them and your wanting to use the monsoon 'amp' I would recommend infinity.

They are a decent speaker at a decent price that require alot of power to come 'alive'.

Boston Acoustic components in the front door and in the sail panels.
Don't worry about the rears.
10w3 JL subwoofer in a subthump
Alpine 5 channel amp for all of it.
All run by a Pioneer AVH-7500

Sounds amazing.
