strange question about Monsoon...
strange question about Monsoon... Hey guys, I have a '98 SS that I bought wrecked and am parting out. The reason for buying it was to steal its drivetrain and put it in my RX-7. So basically I have most all of the car, including the whole stereo with its headunit, harness, speakers, and amp. My RX-7 does not have a stereo in it. I was considering the off the wall possibility of installing the entire Monsoon system into the RX-7. I know it would take some custom work and maybe some harness adapting but I am not afraid to do that kind of thing.
The whole idea came about when I started thinking about buying a new headunit and speakers for the RX-7 and realizing that it was going to cost quite a bit. Also, I don't know if I could get very much parting out the Monsoon stereo.
The question comes with the quality of the Monsoon. Is it even worth the trouble? I used to have a Firebird with the Monsoon in it and I thought it sounded decent. I just figured I could save some money and add a weird quirk to the RX-7 SS transformation at the same time.
Opinions? Advice?

yeah it probably would be a pain in the _____ to put it all in there. the thing is I have never even heard this one play so I don't know the condition of the speakers either.

My 2000 SS had the Monsoon and I thought it was great. I am not really particular about my stereo though. My Hawk has the stock radio and I think the Monsoon is much better. If you are interested in selling it, PM me and let me know. My stock stereo is **** and needs replaced.
