My buddy has an Ipod. There is an option you can buy for it that allows you to play the Ipod over your radio. It plugs into your headphone jack and transmites the signal. You just tune your radio to an empty station and hold the ipod next to the radio and hit the button on the Ipod and thats it. It works great and transmittes a good distance. I was picking it up driving infront of him, but would start breaking up if we got to far apart.

go pick up an itrip. they work great and dont require an external power source. it clips on the top of your ipod. the manufacturer is griffen. they have them at best buy. http://www.griffintechnology.com/pro...trip/index.php

there's so many ways to do this but if you're really **** about your music/audio, i wouldn't recommend a transmitter. i've had 3 (monster, itrip, and another griffin one) and wasn't satisfied. there are many companies that make direct audio links to HUs. go to http://ipodlounge.com/, there's a thread with 100's of installs. here's mine: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...highlight=ipod

Very good info there. If you don't want to go through a bigger expense of that, the monster transmitter, in my experience is the better of the ones out there. While they don't have spectacular sound like a direct link would, they do work. At the very worst you spend 20 bucks on the monster kit and then return it if it doesn't work good enough for you.

this is true. if money is an issue and you MUST go with a transmitter, the monster is the best (yes, it's better than the itrip). it charges you ipod as well. the itrip EATS UP the ipod battery and that setup will last you 3 whole hours, at least with the 3rd gen ipod (4th gen might be twice that).

FM transmitters have came a long way from what they were. Of course its not going to be the same as line level but youve also got to consider the source which is MP3s. Im sure you know that its compressed to 128, 160 192kpbs (in most cases) but yet cd quality is 320kpbs. My point is, for most people the fm mod will be fine.

I used to work at Ultimate Electronics and we sold them for about 20-30 bucks if I remember right. It looks just like a car charger for a cell phone with a piece in it that has different FM frequencies listed on it. You plug the Ipod in to your car and that powers your Ipod and the transmitter. Then, you put the transmitter on a station you wouldn't normally listen to. Then turn your deck to the station you have the monster adapter set to and you will be able to listen to it that way.

Again it won't sound like CD quality or anything, but it will work pretty well. Give it a shot and if you don't like it, just return it.

Monster makes something called the iCruise that can plug into almost any factory radio that has a cd changer connection.... they even make a small display for it that can be mounted somewhere so you can view all of your **** from the ipod without having to mess with it, etc.
