Default Any have or know about the lower end Alpine decks, more specifically the CDA-9825?

Okay, I picked up an Alpine CDA-9825 at the local place because it was on sale for $150. It doesn't seem to be a bad unit, it has 3 preouts that are 4v which I like. The problem is I hear there isn't much adjustability with the low end Alpine decks. Crutchfield has the same deck for $160 shipped and it comes with the wiring harness, antenna adapter, and mounting plate FREE, so I was considering returing my deck to the local shop and buying it through Crutchfield for $10 more and getting the free stuff. Now here's the issue: if I'm returning the deck anyhow and ordering online www.ikesound.com has the Pioneer Premier DEH-670MP for $160 before shipping. It has three outputs too but I believe at less voltage. I have a DEH-6400 in my daily driver which I love and the ease of use and adjustability is great. Would I be better off with the Pioneer? I'm sure it's a better deck then the Alpine. The only think that makes me want to stay with the Alpine is that I am going to run Alpine speakers all around and at least one Alpine amp possibly two. Any input guys?

As much as it pains me to say this, there was once a time when Alpine HU's were really good stuff, in my book. Unfortunately it looks like Pioneer and Alpine have traded places in my (and many others) opinion. I would definately not worry too much about keeping the same brand components for everything just for the sake of being consistent. Quality is quality, and certain manufacturers shine in certain areas. If you like the Pioneer deck you have in your other ride, consider another for this car - but with anything audio, I'm sure that anyone will tell you to compare them side-by-side by listening to them first, if at all possible (Best Buy and Circuit City are great for this).

I agree with Daley to an extent. Even though I own an Alpine HU, I'd be just as happy (or happier) with a Pioneer. Don't worry about mixing and matching components as it's done all of the time.

The older Alpines are better than the older Pioneers but as he said, now, I think Pioneer has overtaken Alpine.

I think that is a really good price on the pioneer. The Pioneer will offer you more features than an Alpine on the Lower end of the Price range. Usually that is the deciding factor when considering deck for under $500.
