Default Power windows

Well it is official i hate my power windows. the situation is that my passenger window will go down 50% of the time and the other half I have to wait. Now when it comes to pulling it up they won't go they will prolly go 1/4 of the way, and most of the time I have to pull then up while I press teh buttoin. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix it?

Sounds like your motor is shot, it was the same for me and now my window is to the point where I cannot even roll it up. I have been told if you let it go to long the window can fall off the track and get stuck to. You can get a motor for about $55 from Auto Zone and either replace it yourself or have someone do it for you.

These 4th gen F-bodies are horrible for motor/regulator issues. I just had my driver side replaced a few months back. Seems I read a post every month where someone else is replacing their motor. Sucks!!!

Simmons (sp) seems to be the best for the price. You can pick them up at autozone

Most likely your motor is going, but the tell tale sign for me was when it got close to closing and then stopped, or else crawled to a close.

Both actually. Its quite normal and yes you should replace them. You will notice that they get slower and slower. Eventually they will fail.

anyone have any burnt out motors they would want to send to me. I work for a power tool company BOSCH and i work on armatures, fields all day long. I would like to check out a few of these to see if its just a simple problem or not than tell everone else whats crap in them. Like i said i work with this stuff all day long, have the machines to check each component as well as repair some parts of them. Mine are fine by the way, but like my wonderfull headlight gears taking a crap i see that the window motors are a big problem in our cars also and it would be nice to know what craps out in them.
