Im in Australia and buying a 85 camaro in the next couple of weeks. atm it has the stock radio in it but im looking to replace it with a cd player.

When i had a look at it, it looked like a dual-din headunit. But someone has said that they're only din & 1/2.

Could anyone that has owned one or with any experience with it please calrify this.

Going through Crutchfield's "What Fits My Car" tool and looking at the results, it seems to be 1.5 DIN

http://www.caraudiohelp.com/newslett...ifferences.htm gives the typical sizes if you want to measure yours and compare.

thx for the info, ill just measure it to be sure then go from there. Does limit my buying options if its only 1.5 din.

No, it doesn't limit your options. I had an 85 camaro, you just buy the correct install plate and any regular sized head unit fits fine.

ok true, but i actually wanted a 2 din so it wud have a bigger display. Some 2 dins look awesome compared to 1 din.

I've done heaps of searching and all i can find is this:
