Just incase someone gonna do it , the model of the Jon’s subs : PYRAMID WX85 8" CLEAR POLY WOOFER 4 OHM and the dimentions are : Overall Diameter: 8", Cutout Diameter: 7", Mounting Depth: 3-5/8", Magnet Diameter: 4-1/4", Magnet Height: 1-1/4".
So we know those would fit without a problem.

Hey speaking of those JL audio's I posted, since they are rated at only 3ohm, can an amp that can run speakers at 2ohm power that sub just fine and still get loud?

Honestly I don't know if you could. If you were to do it you would probably have to do alot of measuring and fabrication. Then you would have to put it toghther peice by peice inside the speaker area. But if you really wanted to tear into it and have the tools im sure you could make plenty of room by cutting away and put a custom box in and then put everything you cut back were it belongs. Either way i don't think it would be easy.

I also used a deflex pad behind the subs. Heres a link to them

For the whole setup i only spent about $100 and it made a huge difference. I you go with a quality speaker and amp im sure it will take it to a whole other level. Hope this helps you guys out.
I've never used a deflex pad behind subs, does it go over the back cone part of it, or just rest behind the speaker on whatever surface is behind it?

Also like i've heard before, did you just eliminate the very back 2 speakers? As I hear they are useless.
btw, great idea and sweet setup.

The deflex pads just go on the surface behind the speaker. The only reason i used them is because there was no box so i figure it will help the sound from bouncing around everywhere and hopefully not all much will transmit throught the outside of the panel.

No i did not eliminate the rear speakers. They are not totally useless and i would not get rid of them. They help with the overall sound with out them the only sound besides bass that i would have would only come from the front and would not sound all that great. It would be like turning your fade on the radio all the way to the front.

I used my old Pioneer stereo amp w/build in crossover, 2 Rockford FosgateP28S4 subs.
The sound is awesome. I couldn’t say that is just improvement over stock - this is a GOOD UPGRADE!!
I was impressed, didn’t even thought that its gonna be that good!

Nice! I guess I'll do that, buy a pair of jl 8w7's, But I'm worried about the surround on those subs hitting the edge of panel. Do yours do that?

Mine doesnt. Surrounds on those subs are detachable, I think. Look on the left sub on this picture:

Hmmm, I need to see how that works, I was wondering where the screw holes were. Just looking at it, man you'd be thinking, "damn that thing's a beast!"

Heres a perfect way of how show to people, It'll prolly be loud as hell for a 8" sub, people ask you, "woe! you gotta system in here?!? Let me see! Open up the trunk hatch, they'll see nothing, and say "WTF??, ok whats going on?!". Then show them the 8" subs, and they'll **** there pants, lot literally but...they'll be shocked!!

Just gotta supprize people man!
