Did anyone try to fit 8" subs by the rear seats?

good idea, but what about the actual sound that come from those speakers? or were they origonally intended for bass only? dont you need some sort of tweeter there? just a thought, i might go ahead and do this also. just need to find a cheap set of speakers to go with, im tring to save money.
i went ahead and ordered the same pyramid's just for the time being. I like those JL's and punch ones, maybe in the future.

jlw7 8 inch subs have alot of cone movement and i guarantee they would hit the pastic panels if you had them turned up loud. A custom panel job would probably be needed or just cut and make it look ghetto.

Any opinions on these subs? 4" mounting depth sounds like it would work

When UPS is finally fully up and running in Lake Charles, LA I'm gonna order a pair of JL 8W1's. I'll post pics when done, though it's suppose to be 2 weeks till they're completely running again.

well, using an 8" subwoofer to do your midbass isn't really something i would recommend anyways. if you're going to do a dedicated mid, you want to consider something that will thrive in the 80hz-250hz range, and you won't really find a subwoofer that will do that for you.
i know you're interested in trying to get something along the same companies that you already have, so i would suggest the 6.5" midbass from the JL Audio XR653-CS. it's hard to find these by themselves, so i have other suggestions for you.

those are a few examples for you. how are you intending to cross this over?

I'd LOVE to use a crossover to clip the upper and lower frequencies, but honestly not sure how to go about clipping both at the same time. Any suggestions??

there are several active crossovers you could go with. what is your budget?
also, if your HU has an internal crossover, you can combine the crossover points on the HU with crossover points on your amplifier to easily have a bandpass filter.

I'd like to find something simple, small that will work. Maybe in the $50 range?
Good idea with the HU, but mine doesn't have an internal one for the front/rear channels. My amp has a high or low crossover and is adjustable. Probably the easiest thing to do is use an external low pass crossover (since they're easy to come by) and use the amp for the highpass. Think that'll work?
