Programming key fob
1) Remove radio fuse. You will need to place your key in the ignition. You might want to disconnect the key fob. Now you will need to cycle the ignition switch from OFF to RUN three times within five (5) seconds
2). On the third cycle leave the ignition in the Run position.
3). The door locks should lock, unlock and then the rear hatch release should activate.
But, I cannot get the car to go into the “program” mode after the whole cycle of switching from OFF to RUN 3 times.
What can I possibly be doing wrong? Are the directions different for a 1998 F-Body?

Thanks for the help, but that didn't help either.
That's program mode is apparently for programming your alarm system, locks and such....not for key fobs..
