Run a CB, cheaper, and more effecitve, if you're on the highway all the time.

I have an Escort I think(I cant remember I will look tonight)
it was $150
it can pick up Ka, X, and K (i think) and Laser
Yes but one was because I was the only one on the road and the other one I was screwed but oh well.
I shouldnt have paid so much for it cause I have gotten 2 tickets since I got it. But I got out of many more. So its saved me.

passport 8500-50
300 dollars and some change
saved my *** 'several' times. picks up radar over hills, around corners, and from about two miles up the road.
just got back from a 3500 mile trip, averaged 80+ mph, no tickets.
has laser capability, but if that goes off I figure its too late. It did once, but the guy comin up behind me was going about 10mph more than me, and he got nailed. I had time to slow down. Lucky that time.
I'd highly recommend the 8500-50, but if I had it to do over, I'd prolly go with the V1 for it's directional capabilities. the passport and V1 are are the best there is.

check this site out, I found it very helpful in making my decision.

Cobra XRS-9400 Radar Detector $120

Picks up these radar bands, 360 degree range
1. X Band Radar
2. K Band Radar
3. Ka Superwide Radar
4. VG-2 Rader Detector-Detector
5. Spectre 1 Rader Detector-Detector

Pics up these lasers, 360 degree range
1. LTI20-20™ Laser
2. Ultra Lyte™ Laser
3. ProLaser™
4. ProLaser III™

Also has Safety Alert System and Strobe AlertTM System.

I wouldnt drive on the interstate without one, its range is amasing. I had a cheap (>$50) unit that my dad borrowed and never returned and this one blows that one away. Never been ticketed, it usually detects cops long before they are in sight.

I have one too. The voice alert is bad ***. I woulda gotten popped by CHP about 3 months ago after I got if it weren't for it. Also about 2-3 times on the street. Those 4 times are very much worth it.

It all personal preferance really. Same with clutches. Some have good experiences with some and bad with others. Do what you think is good.

that site says that radar/laser jammers dont work, but the local (knoxville, TN) radio commercial for phazer states that they will pay any ticket you get as long as their dectetor is on.

I have Bel's RX65. Only used it for about two weeks and then put it away with my car. Worked good for me. I don't use it now in my beater because I don't speed in it, nor do I want anyone to steal it.

I have a passport 8500 x50, don't buy a regular 8500.

Either get the X50 or a Valentine one

I bought my X 50 for 238.00 shipped on I forgot...ebay or overstock
I would've bought a V1 but the price was unbeatable and I was able to get my 1 year warranty still. I have tracked Highway patrols from distances beyond eyesight giving very adequate time to slow down. But don't get cocky because not every one uses laser/radar to pull you over.
