Default projected stereo setup...inputs?

while i have my bushing set on order and awaiting their arrival anxiously, i've been lookn into goin ahead an replacin the sound system (seeing as how my left speaker's blown X( )

here's what im lookn at (full jl setup):

front: XR650-CSi (or maybe 653-CS??)
rear: XR650-CXi
Amp.: 300/4 (for speakers); 500/1 (for sub)
Sub.: 10w6v2
H/U: Alpine CD-9856

the h/u choice was just that i hear alot about alpine heads and i've seen a few people post about how they bought the above head unit (actually, i thought it was the 9851 model, but i didnt see that on alpine's website).
I *did* have a question about the front speakers: how much difference would you hear between a 2- and 3-way component speaker? Is it worth it to get the 3-way? Just wanted some input to see what you guys think of the setup, maybe im missin some stuff or that i need to add. u guys seem to be pretty helpful in comments - negative or positive.

once God blesses me with the money, all the stars and planets line up correctly, and i get a sudden boost in my paycheck, maybe then i'll have just enuf to build this system...so i just plan on building it piece by piece

Thats going to sound good
You may want to consider a EQ to shape the sound exactly how you like it.

I took advice of some ,on these boards- and skipped the rear speakers, and put the money into the best front components I could afford. I used a single JL sub in a stealth box, and I'm very happy with the results.

any thoughts on a specific eq? not real sure about using them...havent looked into buyin one...yet

also, i may take popular advice an just keep the rears, like bobo suggested, at least until i get everything else upgraded/installed, just to see how it sounds. i know it'll at least save me ~$300

Where do you plan on mounting a 3-way component set?

was thinkin maybe the woofer in the obvious spot, the mid- to the upper front corner of the speaker, then the tweeter mounted in the a-frame (or the triangular part in the corner of the window, thought that was called the a-frame?) OR, i see the 2 little vents, one on each side, that are on the panel, facing the windows, and was thinkin if u culd remove the faces and install the tweeters in those?

Camaroguy, so you just plan on cutting a hole in the door panel next to the stock 6 3/4" location? You looked around there at all? Also, all of those tweeter locations will work. I've listened to them all.
