that JVC is 12v, so you are good to go

and actually the ones what are 6v are actually in the head of the plug, not the cradle

On my Clarion it's in the cradle (the wireless FM transmitter is there as well).

I have a question for you... I just received an XACT Stream Jockey II to replace my StarMate (which didn't like getting wet on the bike). It has the transformer in the cigarette lighter head like you said. The adapter says 12V in, 6.5V out but all the literature I can find for accessories (motorcycle mount, etc.) show a 6V adapter. I have a 12V to 6V universal hardwire adapter at home. Will it work with the XACT unit? Is the half-volt difference important?
