why do you need this? ive thought about this myself, but only because i was bored... are you trying to be the next james bond? or do you plan on just committing countless illegal acts? either way, the concept isnt that difficult to come up with a solution for, say a spring, a cable, and a electric motor or actuator. i think you can do the rest.

I have money, I would rather buy something made by a pro for my car, that, when I do decide to maybe say outrun the lexington, hehehe, police it will work, and not mess up. If you street race, you need it, or you really aint racing at all!

I have seen a pretty cool one. Expensive, but very clean. Not sure if i'm supposed to post a link or not, It's not really ls1 related, but if this is not allowed please edit my post and accept my apology.

Thats a pretty cool one. Would be nice to have it hooked to key switch power so everytime that the key is turned off the plate would disappear.

Check out some of the street rodder mags, they have ads for what you want (sorry can't remember the companies name) the plate disappears when you shut the car off, so they do make what you want
