Default What do you think of Audiobahn?

I am looking around for a replacement sub for my 10" stealth box since my JL 10W0 is pretty much done for.

I don't really want to spend alot of money and I want a sub that will handle at least 200watts RMS.

I have been looking around and noticed that Audiobahn subs are very cheap and handle alot of power for the $$ compared to other brands.

Is there anything wrong with the quality of Audiobahn speakers ?
Are they junk?

I have Audiobahn 6.5s and I reget buying them every day. They sound like absolute *** and are NO way even halfway comparable to the infiinty reference 5.25s I have in my dash. The Audiobahns were rated at 100 RMS watts, and they distort at half volume from my audiobahn amp.

I can, however tell you that I am extremely pleased with my audibahn 4 channel amp.

I knew there had to be a catch, I am very picky about sound quality so that definetely scratched the audiobahns off my list

I have a jl audio 10w3v2 in my stealth box, and it hammers for 1 ten. I have it powered with a small rockford amp(black and grind). I believe it is rated at 300 rms, and can be had on the net for $150 or so.

I had a JL 10W0 hooked up to a rockford fosgate RF2002 Amp, it was impressive for a single 10" the quality was very good, but the dust cap fell off and even after gluing it back on it is just not the same anymore, thus the search for a new sub

I do like JL audio, but I feel like its pretty overpriced

I am very happy with the 10w3v2, I think you would find it a vast improvement over a 10w0, but price is always a consideration. There are alot of subs out there, with enough digging you can find something reasonable for a price you are comfortable with.

Ascendantaudio.com...Look into their Assassin series. I have not heard these, but they are the replacement for the Atlas which was amazing for it's price. I think they have the tens for like 45 bucks now or something.

I used 2 JL Audio 10w0's for 4+ years and sounded good, but put in Memphis Audio PR 10's and they hit much harder. They sound much better, but are not as efficient as the 10w0's. At about $100 I think they would be a good 200 watts RMS sub for a stealthbox. I had to add some poly fill in my box since the magnet is much bigger than the 10w0's and now they really hit hard and sound very clean...My 10w0's would start to struggle when I turned the bass up max, but not with the Memphis PR's.

Ive never experienced "smaller" Audiobahn speakers/subs, but for the 12" and 15", they are pretty good for the money.

Had a friend who used to every 6 months build a different system for his Cavalier (his neighbor works for a very big Audio distributor, so naturally car electronics were priced pretty well for us)... I took part in alot of the builds. One of the better setups was 2 Audiobahn 12" (dont remember which model), believe they were about 1000rms each, and a Audiobahn 1800 Amp (which would get upgraded to two of them, one running each sub) later on. Full Pioneer interior. Alot of cheap systems will sound just that, cheap, to me this setup did not, but then again it was well tuned.

The topic of this post was what do I think of Audiobahn, well I wouldnt go with their cheaper end subs, their higher end are pretty good in my opinion, nor would I go with their smaller speakers.
