Default window motors

any of you guys have problems with your window motors going out or was it just me what about hatch motor should that be expected seems that they are carrying same problems as 82-92s did

my windows motor died at 40k miles, got some new one off abey, make sure you get the one with the warranty, they re like 80$ for both or something like that,
then I m sure you ll have no problem finding tutorial to do them, I had a guy do mine and they were a pain ....
good luck
my old 92 camaro had the hatch f up to
I think stuff like that will always brake on you with these car
oh well...

Mine crapped out at about 45k. Bought some new ones from Auto Zone and they are a huge pain to put in. after i put it in, it started making a popping noise every time i brought the window back up from the very bottom. If i could go back i would have payed someone to put it in.

My wife's passenger motor went out after only 8k miles! Unbelievable. I replaced it myself. AutoZone.

yeah ive replaced both of mine they went out within a week of each other talk about a pain think your glad that you dont have to do that for awhile then i was out there the next weekend doing it again. i went the lifetime route but that really dosent matter your still have to take those damn things out when i was doing it it wasent worth the power but know that its said and done hopefully for awhile its worth it

Dude, no offense but it's hard to read your post when you don't use proper sentence structure and punctuation. You may not think it's a big deal but it's really a pain when you have to try to 'decode' what people are writing. We all misspell words and drop commas once in a while but this is a little excessive. Sorry, just trying to be helpful. .

BTW, I thought the installation was pretty straightforward.

i have replaced 3 pw motors in my 98z alone. then i have changed 2 in my 92 firebird and 1 in my old k5. gm just can't get the pwm right

sorry i misspelled one word maybe thats why it took me 6 years to get through english class back in high school huh j/k

Holy run-on sentence batman! I wont even try to read that.


And yeah, my driver side motor went out around 28K miles. I replaced it with a motor from AutoZone. Wasnt a big deal, just kind of annoying to do.

I've replaced my driver's side window motor.
It was easy.

I had my driver's side motor replaced by the dealer under warrantee at about 32K miles.

Its very common. Ive never actually seen anyone that didnt have problems after about 50k miles. Usually the window keeps getting slower and slower.
Simmens makes about the most reliable replacement.
