Default new system

hey guys, I'm new to car audio. this is my first system i've tried to put together. Here is what i was thinkin...

HU: pioneer DEH-9600mp
subs: 2 12" resonant engineering XXX, or 2 12" MTX 9500
amp: XXX-5000D
speakers: not certain yet.

so what do u guys think? what are your opinions on those two subs and how they would sound in the car? budget on this im not too worried about so, yeh. I really want this to hit HARD, but not give out on me or obviously lack quality. tell me if im on the rite track here

Whats your budget? Eclipse is a better selection for an HU and you can get and 8445 for 310 delivered from ebay. Diamond Audio Hex componants are a good speaker but I might be able to get you a deal on Arc stuff.

I went with a Boston Acoustics G5 in a subthump stealth box. Looking to keep a lower profile with my system.
Go here for sub talk :

I have a 15" Adire Brahma in my TA and have no issues playing everything from punk/ska to rap to classical to rock.... whomever told you that a 15 cannot be as responsive as a 12 pretty much lied to you... one thing to remember is that no matter how good the sub is, if you stick it in a poorly designed box it will sound like crap next to a mediocre sub in a very well designed box....

the xxx's are a very good sub and one 15 in about 2cubes, maybe 1.5 should be perfect for what you want. 1 15 will be cheaper, lighter and smaller in install size then the 2 12's...

if you can go here:

http://forum.carstereos.org

and get some reading done, there are a lot of guys there with RE experience and they can help you with your planning. any way you go make sure to get plenty of pics and share your work

ok cool. so i've been hitten a lot of other boards lookin at this n i think dual XXXs sounds like me. how much space am i gonna be needin here? r u sure 1.5 cubes would be ok? from wut i can tell it will prob. need more like 3 cubes. also, wut is gonna be the difference between two 12s vs. 15 anyway? cuz if the diff. is small i mite jus want to go for the 12 inch neway jus for the sake of space, but im pretty set on two drivers

EDIT: btw koncrete... how u liking that Brahma?

I have the brahma in a 3.5cube with a swappable port... one port I have tunes it to about 38hz and I can nail 143db legal. My box is too big and the volume of this sub overruns the rest of my system....for now....I would like to take it down to about 2-2.25 but I want to learn to fiberglass first (anyone here near the DC area that knows how to do it PM me, I'll buy the beer!!!)

2 12's will take up more space then a single 15... 2 12's will also be heavier then a single 15 (our cars don't need anymore weight) and to top it off they will be more expensive...

my main advice would be to find someone close to you with a XXX that you can go listen to, try to find a couple of people with different size boxes of you can that way you can get a feel for what box size your gonna like.

usually the bigger the box the "boomier" the bass...

I have a 15" XXX powered by a Ampman 1500D in my Camaro and it plays well with all music types.

Currently going to redo the whole system consisting of:

Eclipse CD7000 headunit
Diamond Audio HEX S600a speakers
15" XXX sub
Ampman Audio 1500D amp
deciding on what amp to run the Diamonds, maybe a US AMP tube.
200 Amp alternator
sound insulation.
