I don't know what power antenna you are talking about on ebay, but here is a write-up and GM part number for the stock power antenna (which you can get from www.gmpartsdirect.com):

i was talking about this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Power...47266474QQrdZ1

it is cheaper than the factory one and i wanted to see if it worked just as well, but thanks for the info, i just might end up getting the factory one if no one has used this alternative

Looks pretty cheap to me.
Id go with the gm parts just because the fit and filament will probably be alot better.

A new GM unit is about $78 on GMPartsDirect.com
You can often find used ones on ebay for $50.
(Funny thing is that new ones cost about the same as on GMPartsDirect.com)

I know its more expensive than one you posted, but its a genuine gm part that is designed to fit.

Your going to save yourself a lot of time with bolting it on there if you just buy the GM unit.

Double check the part number before you buy one.
I seen two different part numbers listed for the power antenna.

P/N 10269280 is for 93 thru mid-97. P/N 10402860 is for late 97 and all 98-02 models. I don't know what the difference is.

10402859 is the only one that will fit the Camaro. 10402860 doesn't fit the Camaro, I believe it is for Firebirds, but not sure on that one. So if you're looking to do this in a 'Bird, that might be the one.

I would just get a stubby little antenna instead of putting a power antenna in. That thing just pisses me off... I hate the sound of it
