I just ordered me a Valentine One...I've heard nothing but good things about them. But there are always debates about what is the "best". Do some searching you will find tons of info.

As the other guys have said, the Valentine V1 and the Escort 8500 X50 are the best detectors on the market.

I personally have the Escort 8500 X50, and I've been very satisfied with it

The Beltronics RX65 is better than the Escort Passport 8500 X50, simply because it has voice alert and it can detect the new Ku band. I recommend that. It's nearly the same price too.

Unless you want the absolute BEST detector ever offered to date... Get the Beltronics STI Driver. It's completely invisible and can detect anything thrown at it from miles away. It really is an AMAZING detector, but the price is AMAZINGLY high...

Escort x50 is really nice for the price and is raved about in various car magazines. Valentine is also awesome. You can't go wrong with either.

ive heard alot of good things about the v1 but i have an 8500 since i think the advantage of the v1 is the arrows and here in michigan they (arrows) arent as useful as in other staes like texas, ohio, pennsylvania were the cops seam to team up.

I've had about 124521512463453125 radar detectors. I sold my X50 a while back because I hadn't used it in forever, I bought a V1 about a montha go.

Both are EXCELLENT and work super, but I do prefer the V1. The rear detection has saved me from a few stupid mistakes twice already and the service is second to none.

But they are both top notch, I would use either.

Many people absolutely love their Valentine's but it is a little outdated. Compared side-by-side with a newer detector, it loses in every area. However, it still does what it's intended to do, just not as good as some of the newer ones now.
