Hey,
Tommrow my friend is going to hook up my 300 watt Rockford Fosgate amp and 12' sub. Where can I feed the Power wires for the amp through the Firewall, to go to the battery?
Can I go through the center console to get the wires to the head unit or should I take up the carpet?
I have a 2001 Camaro Z/28. Thanks for any help!

Thanks alot,
But I think I found an easier way to route it to the battery. Im just gonna run it under that plastic pecie right next to the door sills, then make it go through the door jam into the eninge compertment. I also made sure you would not be able to see the wires.
Tell me if you think this is a good idea, or how did you do it?

always make sure if your going to be around any metal pieces, to cover them up and maybe wrap some electrical tape (to protect the wire itself) where it will meet the metal.

The "best" path is as recommended, through the firewall grommet.
It's hard to figure exactly what you are thinking about doing, but it sounds like you want to sneak it under the door jam trim around the sill and outside then forward through the fender area.
That's a bad idea because that wire will get worked everytime you open and shut the door that way. It doesn't seem like that big of a deal but over time there's a chance it'll work through the insulation and short.
Don't take shortcuts here, it's not worth it. Pull the PCM out and do it right, it'll only take an extra half hour or so.

It'll come out in front of the glove compartment. If you have someone jiggle it while you crawl under the dash you'll be able to look up there and find it easily.
You can certainly do it by yourself but the movement will make it alot easier to spot. Very easy, either way.
