Default Alarm is being a pain

I woke up this morning at 3:30am to the sound of my alarm going off. At first I thought maybe some strong wind came, or some punk was trying to steal my car. I shut off the alarm, and 2 seconds later it goes off again while I'm standing right next to it. I disabled the alarm by locking the doors by hand.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has had this problem/knows how to fix it. I think maybe some condensation got in there since it has been raining for like 3 days, but I checked the vibration sensor and it was bone dry. I have only been arming the alarm like half the time the cars been parked (don't want it going off for hours at a time while I'm at school), but this happened the other day too (also a rainy day). I'm thinking if I bring it to my mechanic he won't be able to spot the specific problem and I'll need a whole new system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Alarm going off right after arming is usually the shock sensor.

culhan9 - try turning the sensitivity down.

I'm having this problem, too...right after a heavy rain. I'll try the shock sensor, I guess.

My Convertible use to go off often from the wind, motor bikes, other cars driving by. The shock sensor came loose off the 2 sides tape. I re-taped it no problem. My other 2 cars never did this. I have the factory alarm systems.

Thanks, but I already tested the sensor by shoving the car really hard while it was armed. It didn't go off. I can't take it anymore, it's got an appt. at the Chevy dealer on monday.

Mine NEVER goes off unless you hit it on the right quarter panel. Try taking out the right sail panel, digging around for a bit, and turning the adjustable **** on the factory shock sensor.

I got this problem too. Same story....problem started after driving in a heavy rain storm. The alarm goes off within 10-15 seconds after arming it. Ive turned the shock sensor sensitivity as low as it will go....same thing. I really want this fixed.

UPDATE: I got a new sensor, and when I took the old one out I opened it up. The computer chip was covered in fungus/corrosion. Maybe you guys with the same problem should open it up and check it out.
