Default Security Light

Ok, so My battery died because the positive terminal rotted away from the battery itself. when I replaced the battery the security light started blinking and the car wouldnt start. So I had her towed to a shop and they checked it out. Apparently the Body movement control sensor went out on the car as well. I thought that was mighty suspicious but I have used this shop for 15 years and they haven't screwed me over yet. The replaced the part and the car runs, but the key fob doesnt work and the security light is still blinking. They said I would need a dealer to reprogram the fob / security system. is there a way I can do that? or is it something better left in the hands of professionals?

First thing I'd try is "resynchronization" - Stand close to the car, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter simultaneously for about 8 seconds, door locks should cycle and interior lamps should flash. If that doesn't happen next thing I'd try is reprogramming the remotes. Don't need a dealer to reprogram the remotes, instructions are available here and also on www.installuniversity.com

If it has a security light then it has a dtc related to the vats anti theft, It has nothing to do with the keyless entry. Need to get it scanned w/a tech 2 or equivalent and see what it stored in the bcm and pcm.
