Default Best way to wire sub amp to monsoon

I have a sub amp I would like to wire to my monsoon setup. I got the power, rem, ground all ran. I need to figure out the best way to get an audio input. I know there is more than one way. What do you recommend?

Tap into the rear channel amp inputs.

Straight high level signal from the head unit, easy to get to, already ran for you.

Grabbing it at the speakers adds another layer of distortion.

I would use a high to low level converter. PAC makes a decent one

I went with a line output converter on the sail panel speaker, cheap and effective. the speakers in the hatch don't have bass freqencies ran to them (crossed at the amp)

Why are people using a line level converter from the rear sail panel speakers as opposed to the amp ins from the h/u? I don't understand it unless you have a sub amp w/o a crossover.

One less layer of distortion tapping off the amp inputs...

Oh and the line level converter is a given if you amp doesn't have high level inputs. If it does, just use them. The head unit sends speaker level signals into the monsoon amp. Not RCA level.

because it's off a monsoon system.... not exactly like your going to get a clean signal from ANYWHERE...

besides it's sub freq. you cannot hear the difference between 1% and 5% distortion...

I found out a pac-01 converter will work and your stock sytem will still work the same and have your subs bump to. http://www.tune-town.com/Cars/stuff/pac_oem1.htm

You don't need the pac unit.

If your amp has speaker level inputs you can use it as-is. If it does not you can buy any line level converter and tap it off the amp inputs yourself.

cheaper and easier.

Umm learn your audio stuff, listen to high end home theatre, computer, etc multimedia setups. Basically, I know what sounds good and what doesn't.

ahh, you learn what sounds good to YOUR ear...... gotcha...

it's funny how one person can really like the way something sounds and another will think it's garbage.

I gave up trying to compete sound quality for the simple fact that even the judges (whom all share your trained ear) couldn't agree on what sounded best....
