Default lighting problem

i have a 99 Z28 and i have a lighting issue.
during the day my let front parking light works fine, but the right side doesn't work at all, and when i try to signal a right turn the light won't blink, but it stays on when i have the swith pushed up. now, during the night after the sensors kick the headlights and all on, the right side light works fine, but it still won't blink when i try to signal a right hand turn!! could it be as simple as replacing a switch?
i know you're gonna ask.....YES, i replaced the lights after i noticed that it wasn't working, and nothing changed. i know the bulb is fine because it does come on when i force it to with the switch, but it should stay on constantly when i'm driving no matter what time of day. i'm stumped and i get sooo frustrated with electrical problems!
i've also noticed alot of other 4th gens riding around with what seems to look like the same problem. one light is on, and the other is not. is this a common problem with the 4th gens, and if so, i hope there is an easy solution.

Either that front right bulb is burned out or you have a corroded socket there. The bulbs are dual filament - one bright filament for daytime running lights and turn signals, and one dim filament for parking lights. In your case the bright filament isn't working so you have no DRL or turn signal on that side but the dim filament still works when you turn on the headlights.

The turn signals on the right don't flash for the same reason. When a bulb is burned out on one side there isn't enough current flow through the flasher to make it flash.

So, in this case you should try replacing the front right bulb first. While you're doing that check for corrosion in the socket. Our cars are infamous for collecting water in the front signal housings and getting corroded sockets.

You can get contact cleaner in a spray can from Radio Shack. It is specifically designed for cleaning electrical contacts (and tape heads, etc.). Carb cleaner or brake cleaner will work but you'll have to follow it up with some rubbing alcohol to get rid of any residue. After cleaning, a little dielectric grease will help prevent future corrosion.

Actually, on a Camaro the easiest way (and the one recommended in the service manual) is to remove the headlights and reach it from above. Remove the headlight bracket bolt, slide the housing inboard to release the mounting tabs, and pull it out of the way.

If the socket is rusted it would probally be best to replace it. It is also possible that moisture is getting to the bulb and burning it out. I ran into this same problem and had the dealer replace the socket.
