How much does each one weigh with a typical amp and the same woofer? I know the jl is fiberglass and teh subthump is mdf i was just wondering what is the weight difference between the two.

cant help you on the weight difference, but I can tell you that Steve at subthump will build a much better box and save you tons of money, if you are worried about weight for the track, just take it out.

I know that the JL box is lighter but how much is the price difference between the two? Also can you have the amp mounted on the box so that it is easier to remove both easily, if it has been done does anyone have pics of their setup?

at the audio shop they quoted me almost 500 bucks for the jl box with the new w0 sub. for that much, you could get the left and right side, the amp rack, and two alpine 10 type S's for that price. hell, if you get a good deal, you might even find an amp under that much too.

I got a JL box and brand new stage 1 Fosgate sub for $110 on a local board (ahhh the art of bargaining). I dont think you could mount an amp on the box. Theres not really room to put one on there anywhere. It is super light though being fiberglass and it sounds fantastic.
