Lets see some Ipods.
I currently use my ipod via a Headphone to RCA cable, into a RCA to alpine adaptor. It works great, no complaints. The only thing I don't like is how to mount it. I currently have the line ran threw my ashtray, and then I plug it into my ipod, and tuck it inbetween my e-brake and shift boot. Its just not convinent, I can'd change the songs easily, and I just want something a little more custom/perminate. I was thinking about something were I could mount the plug solid, and just take the ipod ( nano ) and slip it on it, and that would be sufice to keep it upright.

Glad some people liked my install. It does have the drawback that you cant really access the ipod controls that easily but I like it for now. I actually wish I had waited before buying the aux converter though. I stumbled across some nifty lil toys that I'd of loved to try out instead. I came across a few products that connect your Ipod to your radio via bluetooth. Im not sure of the quality but a website I came across had a chart and the quality of bluetooth transmitted music was listed right around wired ipod quality.
One in particular that caught my eye is called Bluna. Its made specifically for the Ipod nano, (although can be fitted on other cradle mount ipods) attaches to the bottom cradle port and basically makes the ipod look about an inch longer. It produces a bluetooth signal so that some of the newer radios (even some newer stock radios) can pick up on it. This way you could put the ipod where ever you wanted without worrying about wiring hassles. The downside is that a lot of the bluetooth aftermarket radios are kind of pricey. At least the one I'm looking at lol DEH-980BT.
Another bluetooth ipod adapter is called Naviplay. This one comes with a similar but larger (designed for regular sized ipods) transmitter and a reciever with a headphone jack on it. The nice thing about this converter is that you can get it for about 70 bucks on ebay and then just pick up whatever aftermarket radio that suits your price range (just make sure it has rca inputs). Then get a rca to headphone jack wire and you're set. Wireless Ipod to car stereo.
The down side to these, to the best of my knowledge, is that you cant use the radio controls to control the ipod but the way I have my ipod setup at the moment I'm using the ipod to change artists more than I thought I would so It would probably be more convenient seeing as how I dont have the hassle of putting the wire back into the ashtray every time I pull out the ipod to make a music selection.
Hehe sorry if this is off the topic, I know you wanted to see Ipod installs but I figure that by broadening your options you or others might be able to come up with more creative installs.
