Amping off of the factory monsoon
i've tried searching but can't find the answer, I have a 02 z/28 and I want to use the stock monsoon deck (I know it won't be the best before you guys tell me that). I know I need a level converter, but on the front speakers do i put the line converter before or after the factory amp? also what wires would i put in the line converter, I know there is 2 sets on the front speakers, the sail panel speakers seem easy enough but the fronts confuse me, HELP!

u connect the line level converter to the speaker wires that go to the front speakers from the amp in the back of the car (put the converter in the back next to the amp), thats how my line level converter in connected and works perfect

I don't know if you are still looking for an answer but the best place for a full range line level tap-in is from any of the head unit outputs to the amp. Unless you are using the Pax unit, I always recommend doing this in the rear of the car at the amp input harness.
Almost nobody really listens though because many use the pax unit up front, or are happier tapping off the hatch or sail panel speaker leads. Tapping in at the amp input harness is the cleanest signal point.
The monsoon deck is just a normal Delco deck - it sends four full range speaker level signals to the monsoon amp.

how is there 4 outputs on the back of the factory deck if the signal for the highs goes directly to the speakers, and then the amp in the back goes to the mids in the front? that would be 4 outputs just for the front speakers (2 directly to tweets, and 2 to amp for mids) then you still got sails and hatch speakers
