I may be wrong but I don't think you can just "unprogram" them, unless taking the battery out does it?

Depends on what you want to do. If you want to match the keyfob to your car then just program it (along with all your other fobs) to your car using the instructions in the owner's manual. There is no need to "unprogram" it first.

If, on the other hand, you just want to make sure that nobody can use it to open your car then you actually have to reprogram your other remotes and leave the one out so that it no longer matches. Any remote that doesn't get reprogrammed at the same time as the others won't work with your car anymore.

Turn the key to run and then off to ensure the alarm system is disarmed. Remove the radio fuse. Turn the ignition to run and then off three times within five seconds but leave the key in the run position on the last cycle. The car will lock both doors, unlock the driver's door and release the hatch. If it doesn't then you missed a step or you don't have keyless entry installed. Now you can press and hold the lock and unlock buttons for 15 seconds - until the car does the same thing again (locks and unlocks the doors and releases the hatch). Repeat for each of your remotes. When you're done, turn the ignition off and replace the radio fuse.

It works on all 98-02 F-bodies that have keyless entry but it has to be done exactly as described. Several people have said it didn't work until they went back and did the steps in the precise order listed (then it worked for them).

make sure after you take out the radio fuse to close the door before you turn the key!

I know I am going to repeat what is already posted but maybe I can say it alittle different!

Once the door is closed turn the key on and off 3 times and on the 3rd time leave key on the on postion (if you mess up turn key off and open door and start over) Once you do that like said before the doors will lock unlock and the hatch will pop then with key still on hold down the lock and unlock bottons at the same time until it locks unlocks and pops the hatch again! I have done this on a 99,00 and a 02 and it worked everytime.
