Default Alpine DVD Bypass

Came across this thread while searching...
https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/455421-alpine-dvd-bypass.html

HMM....locked for "illegal activities"? Sorry, but was looking for the wiring for the brake switch. Needed to know the color for the brake switch power and everything's been deleted.

Sorry, but THAT is retarded. It's not "illegal" to disable this. Yes, it's illegal to drive with it on, but we aren't talking about a selling dope here. Hell, maybe we should start deleting all threads that have to do with putting in LT headers and ORY pipes since THAT'S illegal. Find it funny, we can talk about how to program out codes so it won't show up at the EPA...but not a ******* stereo.

Sorry...had to vent

i know how to do it, get a switch and a button.

it needs to see 12+ and negative in a sequece.........almost more trouble than its worth.

btw, like said in the original, there are enough bad drivers out there.....

Understand what it needs to see.... but which wire coming from the pedal switch is a switched positive?

Honestly, don't care to watch movies while I am driving.... but don't want to have to put the parking brake on while adjusting settings either. The other thing is, some people may be looking to do this in order to have TVs in back on (which is not possible with this "security")....and be listening to music up front...

Thanks. Just out of curiosity...where'd you mount your "brain" box? Mine's sitting half under the pass seat in back...but curious if you found a better way.

BTW...your PM box is FULL

Just ground it to the head unit's ground, it needs to show ground inorder for it to work....

As I did with my Clarion VRX935VD and it works perfectly now...

As for the wire go here, and see if this helps you www.the12volt.com

its not that easy anymore. You can't just ground them out. They have to be in sequences

and i used a toggle switch and a ground wire on mine to by-pass the park and watch thing and it works fine. i just push down my foot brake, flip the toggle up then back down, release the foot brake and it work fine. i wired the yellow and blue wire to the brake light in the rear. the yellow and black wire i ran back up to the front to a toggle switch i mounted next to my tcs switch. from the toggle switch i simply went to a ground point under the center console.

I mounted mine underneath the seat. it was a bitch to get done cuase everything needed to be fitted nicely, but it worked out. None of the wires will grind in the rails, i don't lose the ability to adjust my seat, and its pretty sneaky way to hide the brain. I wrapped the wires in electrical tape to insure the rails dont chew away at the wires.

i had to use 2 toggle switches and i had the brain under the drivers side seat but moved because wires got caught up in the power seat tracs and blew a fuse so now brain is just floatin around in back (temp.) and the cd changer is under the passengers seat (so i can acess on the move... in my old camaro i made a custom sub box and box for amps x-box power cap cd changer brain and power converter...it was a pain to get out and pop the hatch to change the cd's) so i 86ed the subs and other jazz ( i listen to zero rap and the stock amp w/ after market speakers is plenty for shadowsfall slipknot and other kickass bands)
