Default Passenger Side Window Express Down Feature

Hey fellas,

We are currently in the beta stages of developing a PED harness (Passenger Express Down) that allows you to change your passenger side to operate the same as the driver's side. This harness/module assembly will work with either the master side passenger switch as well as the passenger side power window switch.

Now here is the best part....its a complete plug and play unit and requires NO CUTTING of the factory wiring. All of the parts are OEM GM components so a perfect fit is guaranteed. All of the joints are hand soldered (not crimped) for strength and are protected with heat shrink tubing for a professional appearance. Harness will definatly work on all 98-02 f-bodies, testing on the 93-97 cars will be later.

Asking price for a harness with module will be around $100-115. We are also considering selling the harness separate and let the consumer purchase the module if they would like from a local dealer. Harness only price will be around $50-60.

Installation requires removal of the passenger door panel and minimal mechanical skills. Once the panel is removed, simply plug in the connectors and put the door panel back on.

Please let us know your thoughts on this. If enough are interested, we may continue with production. I have attached pictures of the test unit below.

Thanks,

Josh P.

It is only for a convenience factor. It seems rather high in price, it may come down once it goes into production. All of these parts were ordered in one quantity so the price was more per part.

Put me on the list, it'd be nice to just hold the down button for 2 seconds for the passenger side as well, instead of holding it for an hour lol .. (not really) .. i think its a good idea.. especially if the price will come down if they really go into production..

Yeah, why not make the DEI unit plug and play instead?

No offense, but if im going to spend $115 for a window control module, I'll buy the DEI unit for $70 and wire it in myself for express down and up.

I'm not trying to be an *** (but I bet I'm coming across as one), just some construtive criticism.

Well the module alone retails for over $50 from GM. The pigtials were ordered from GM as well as an assembled unit which made the price go up. If they do go into production, all of the connectors, terminals, and wiring will be ordered seperate and all be assembled in production. This should bring the price down considerably.

A lot of guys, including myself, dont like to cut into the factory wiring. Simple plug and play is the selling point. We can sell just the module and harness for around $70, but doesnt include the other plugs. Like I said, its an easy install with no cutting of factory wires.

Well at least include a new switch cover (to show express down) for that price

Would it work from the passenger side as well?

I think a better idea is to make an express down AND up kit, that would sell MUCH better and the price would be more justified and unique (most people have known about this mod for awhile).

MAJOR PROPS for continuing to research and develop and offer us new products though !

I'd buy the harness. I've acquired everything else over time including the express down switch caps but haven't taken the time to wire it up. A plug and play solution would make it easy and I'd get it done.

What is the DEI unti you guys were referring to?

The module will make it work from both switches. We were going to have it include the switch covers as well but they arent available seperate, you have to buy the whole drivers side assembly to get just the covers.

So would more of you be interested in this DEI 530T unit if it were plug and play? Would the $115 price tag be worth it? We may have to purchase one and do some research and development with it and see what we can come up with...of course it all depends on what you guys want.

Yes, plug and play for the 530T would be something I'd buy. At around $115 (about $30 more than the module itself) I think it would be well worth it.
