Default sail panel speakers

I know this question is beat to death, but i want opinions on this speaker.
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=14424
My girlfriend has offered to buy them for me and I was wondering if these would work in place of the stock sail panel speakers and if so how would I mount them and how would they sound?? I have the stock headunit and the front door speakers are the alpine sps-170a's. Thanks for the help and sorry again for beating this question to death.

I mainly just wanna know if these speakers would work good in the sails and if so how should i go about mounting them. I think they will work good because they are a dedicated midbass speaker. Please lmk guys, thanks.

Through my limited experience with our car stereo stuff the stockers sound better than anything else that small. If you are wanting a sub I would just get a 10" stealth enclosure for about the same price you would buy two of those speakers for. I already went through the pain of replacing speakers and keeping the stock headunit, its just not worth it. My advice would be save money then get it all together, headunit and speakers. That is always easier said than done however.

I agree, if you want some bass, to look at a stealth box. However a set of kicker ss65.2 components sound great back there.

if you plan on ditching the stock monsoon amp and hu in the near future, sure. go for it. you have have to massage the hole a little for them, but you could make them fit. i made 8"s fit in mine.

bottom line is, NO OTHER WOOFER will sound good with the stock monsoon amp...

my EU-700s even sound like dirt right now because I'm still using the stock amp.

if I had known this in advance, I would have just paid the $40 for a NIB ebay replacement... (local dealers charge $80)

edit... oh yeah, the link you have shows those woofers to be 4ohm... you will only be giving those bad boys like 20 watts...

The door and sail panel speakers on these cars are oversized 6.5" so 6 3/4" will fit perfectly.

I haven't got the spacers yet... and I'm kinda hurtin on money right now so I don't really know when I'll get all the new speakers and amps for the rest of my system...

I may just order the one stock subwoofer off ebay and put it in with my other new one for a few months...

I'm still convinced that the EU-700s will rock with an aftermarket amp... I just don't see how they couldn't... they have superior power handling capabilities, as well as T/S parameters...

but like everyone says, the stock woofers sound at least 5 times better

Well, from what I'v been reading, they seem VERY good at subwoofer use when given around 150 watts each. Are you gonna get a new H/U too?

DEH-P980BT

Already have it installed.... the 16-band EQ makes even the stock monsoon system sound decent...

the unit has a wire that plugs into it and has a female connector... you normally leave the hands-free microphone plugged in, but when you want to run the AutoEQ/TA you just swap the mic...

also, the back of the unit has a regular 3.5mm audio input as well... so I have the following sources:
1. CD
2. Radio
3. Ipod
4. Aux 3.5mm for non-ipod mp3 players
5. Bluetooth Phone
6. Bluetooth Audio
7. Satellite Radio
8. (if I wanted,) additional AUX with IP-Bus cable

I just keep my ipod in the glove compartment... also the 3.5mm cable is just sittin in there so if a friend brings an mp3 player, I can just hook it up

Scrap this is off topic but have u set up the auto eq using the mic yet? I'm just wondering how it actually sounds. I bought a HU off ebay recently and the only thing missing was the mic and i dont wanna throw $40 to pioneer for a new one unless its worth doin.
