Default Headunit question

Ok so i have all new speakers not sure what kind but i know there audiobhan and 2 are polk. The guy before me put them in. There is no cd player in the car and i would like to put one in. I don't know if i should buy a new factory delco bose cd player with the 7 eq or get a newer aftermarket one like a sony or something. I have herd that the delco bose one is reallly good! But also people have been telling me to just get one of the aftermarket ones since they are newer and they are better. But i don't know whats the best choice. These are two that i have been looking at.....

If you get a new (2003 or newer) Delco Bose radio you will have to modify your dash to make it fit because they are double DIN and your dash opening is 1.5 DIN.

If you get one of the 90's Delco Bose radios you will have to replace all of your speakers with Bose speakers. The early Bose systems used a special high-impedance, low-level output head unit that connected to speakers with individual amps attached.

So your best bet would probably be an aftermarket head unit.

Well the well the 2 audiobahns in the front have amps on them the 2 polks in the back have like little copacitors, then the ones in the hatch have like little boxes that wire into them about the size of a pack of cigerettes. So should i still go with the aftermarket one?

The ones in the hatch area sound like Bose speakers. Did the car have a Bose system originally?

The capacitor looking things on the Polks are probably crossovers or low pass filters. I don't know about the Audiobahns.

Most people will tell you that you can get better sound and more features (satellite radio, MP3 capability, etc.) from an aftermarket setup. The biggest disadvantage is that they don't look stock and a lot of people like the stock appearance to prevent theft (or just for looks).

The ones in the hatch are audiobhans, Im sure they all used to be bose speakers but not anymore. Therese 4 audiobhans with 2 little tweeters and then 2 polks that are the bass. Im also just wondering to if the aftermarket will have enough power to power them and sound good.

Well, if you are happy with the sound you get now and just want to change to a head unit with CD then there shouldn't be a problem. Any replacement head unit will have at least as much power as what is there now (unless you go really cheap at WalMart or something).
