Help choosing speakers
Hey guys I need some help choosing speakers to fit my front and rear. I currently am building my system and will be running 2 10" Illusion Audio subs to a Kenwood KDC-X859 head unit. I need something to compliment the subs but I want to stick to the stock opening size (ie no modification for 6.5" ones). Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Help choosing speakers
I have been running some MB Quart 6.5 componnents and they sound great. They aren't 100% drop in replacments but with a little tweeking they fit nicely. I personaly love MB Quart's line of speakers but can sometimes be pricy. Polk has a good line of components as well as Infinity that are a little less money.

Re: Help choosing speakers
So are not all 6.5"s the same size (for the most part)? If not then that opens some more options up. I was originally going to go with Focal's but after reading Jsears post about them being kinda flimsy on there I started to rethink things.

How about trying Illusion Audio's 6.5" components? They make excellent SQ-oriented products that will naturally work very well with your subs.
Like LIL SS said, the mounting holes are the things to tweak with, unless the drivers are too deep. But that's not a problem with the Illusion drivers because they put the magnet on the cone of the speaker, thereby greatly reducing mounting depth.

Re: Help choosing speakers
Check with www.woofersetc.com. I know they carry Illusion. I think the set is called the ND6.1 and it's around $400. Illusion's site is at www.illusionaudio.com and they have a dealer listing as well so you can find someone local.
Good luck!
