Monsoon amps...

If you want to try and upgrade the stock system and save some money that is great, it can be done just as RT said above. But if you like the stock system then you may want to stay out of the other cars I mentioned... you will be dissapointed and probably want to spend some money afterwards...

If you hooked them up using the stock wiring you will only be getting lows through those speakers..[/QB][/QUOTE]
I spliced into the rear speaker wiring, the wiring for subs is being sent to the 10" MTX's.. The system is awesome.. Although id like to dynomat the whole car to make it better...

My monsoon system is just fine.. I have the stock tape deck head unit, with a 12 disc changer. Took out the rear 4 inchers and cut holes to fit Infinity Kappa 5x7's.. under the stock grilles!!! I took out the center subs, and put 6 3/4 Kappa components. And same from the front door... With 2 10" mtx 6000's.. the system absolutely rocks... Better than anything ive heard around here. And for a low price...

What exactly did you do to change the stock subs to full range when you put in the 6 3/4 Kappa components? Sorry Guys I'm not flaming on anyone here but unless you've seriously upgraded the stock system, you are missing out. If you think the stock Monsoon system in these cars sounds good, you would be blown away by the Monsoon systems in the Buick Regal or Volkswagon Jetta. Other awesome stock systems are found in the Toyota Avalon and I hate to say it, the Mach 460 system in the Mustang. I've worked in car audio now for close to 16 years and I hate to say it but we definitely got short changed in the stock Monsoon system. All you have to do is listen to any of the above stock systems to realize how bad ours are not to mention some of the systems guys on the board have put together.

I have heard the Mustang systems plenty of times and I am not impressed at all. My stock Monsoon sounds lots better than the Mustangs with the Mach systems! Maybe I just got a good one but mine sounds rather good(IMO) It can be turned up loud and not distort and everyone likes them b/c they are relatively simple to operate and get a good sound from. I know it isn't the best sound system but it is hard to beat it when it comes from factory systems.

Actually the only reason for my post is to prevent someone from spending tons of money to try and get a better Monsoon amp or upgrade to better factory speakers. Your money will be better spent just bying a cheap but well designed aftermarket system.
