Re: Stock Speakers?
Didya blow it out?.. Dealers charge out the *** for stock speakers.. just go buy yourself a new pair of 6 1/2's or 6 3/4's. Infinitys are sweet, and a great replacement over stock, and probably cost the same.

Re: Stock Speakers?
Hi guys. I currently have my car apart (cage install) and I'm thinking of replacing the front door speakers and the rear speakers. (Crutchfield said to leave the middle side speakers alone if sticking with the stock amp. They are "quasi-subwoofers which they don't have replacements for). My question is, will I notice a difference by replacing these speakers while keeping the stock Monsoon head unit?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Only because i had a hookup on speakers, i put in infinity kappa 6 3/4's.. No highes come out obviously.. but the mid-bass is tighter.. Of course, i didnt pay jack for my speakers, i used to work at circuit city, so i got em on the side.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> But i noticed a small difference.. dunno if you will... But im also planning to completely get rid of the stock amp and run my own stuff soon.

Re: Stock Speakers?
What size are the speakers in the doors and the midsubs on the monsoon setup? I have a pair of
6-1/2's sitting in my closet that I took out of my 94Z. I tried putting them where the midsubs go but they didnt want to fit.

Re: Stock Speakers?
RTCamaroSS - I talked to some more people today, and I'm starting to think the same thing. Probably best to do it right and start over with new head unit & amps, or not do anything. I really don't want to spend $$ on something that I have to "imagine" sounds better.....

If after that you still want more, get a sub or two, i recommend 2 10's for tighter bass. 12's will give you a boomy sound, and depending on what kind of music you like, that can be bad. I stuck with 2 10's.. nice tight bass for rock music. If after replacing all your speakers and adding subs, you are still not happy, then go with a new HU and amps.. either way you will be able to keep everything you've already upgraded, so no money is lost. This is just the logical and cost affective way to do things. After i replaced all my speakers with Infinity Kappas's and adding 2 subs, i was more than satisfied. It depends on personal preference. But start at the beginning and go one step at a time...
