i know they can hit i heard a similar setup in a buddy's mustang - are cars are better than stangs!!!
is it because i am using the two little speakers in the back of the car??
the speakers are polk audio GXR 104 and the amp is Crunch USA Powerzone P2200
thanks guys for any help you can give me
any more ideas before i go even more insane??? <img border="0" alt="[Banging Head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" />
I am using heavy gauage wire for the ground and battery. I do have the power from the amp coming from the fuse box. I found an epmty slot in the box that is on driver side by steering wheel and i have it in there. I want to say the guage is 12 or 14. It is really thick stuff and it is copper. I didnt think our stereo had preamp out puts so i am using the line in from our stock subs in the back seat i am splicing into the monsoon subs and running that to the speaker line into the amp. then everything is normal from the amp to the speakers. i am not sure what you mean about haveing the speakers setup in a parallel or series. they are setup like book recomends.

Now as far as it not coming on, have you tried to adjust the gain on the amp? The input signal will be weak and you will need to turn the sensitivity(gain) up to get the desired volume.
Since you say you are coming off of the speakers, I would also think you have no RCA's and are using the line level input. That could be bad on your amp. You can get a converter from line level to RCA output with a sensitivity adjustment on it. I think Crutchfield should have one.
Good luck

I have the Crunch Power One P2100. (I'm at work, can't remember) I had it in my old Grand Am, and was hitting in excess of 145db. My db meter peaked at 145, and it would hit the peg and stay there. I was set up for sound quality, not volume, btw. This amp is a lot like yours, as it was 400total, 200x2. Check to see if your amp will do higher watts at lower ohmsΩ.
The Crunch P2100 is a REALLY good amp, IMHO. If you look at the specs you see it claims to do 725 watts if bridged, and run at 2 Ohms. I have a 750rms/1000max 10" Eclipse sub that I was doing this damage to my ears with... and it was sitting in a box in the trunk. No, it wasn't bandpass, or even ported. Sealed except for the top.
It took me 4 gauge wire and a 1 farad Fozgate cap to drive the amp. I ran the 4AWG from the battery (using 60amp fuses) to the cap, then 4AWG from the cap to the distribution block(in case I wanted another amp later). 4AWG for the cap ground, as well. 8AWG from the distribution block to the amp itself. 12AWG (overkill, I know) from the amp to the speaker. My speaker is a DVC, wired at 2ohms.
The amp did not hit hard at all in 2 channel mode. 200x2 just did not cut it. 725x1 @2Ω hits as hard as I could ever want. I had a 10" Rockford Fozgate RFP1210 (500rms)@ 2Ω, and I hit so hard on that speaker with that setup that I ripped the leads clean in half. The woofer threw so far out that it streched the leads to popping! The speaker isn't blown, I just need to get that side redone, but decided to get a better speaker.
I was driving this setup with an Alpine deck. Got my 2001WS6 now. Planning on getting a Stealthbox from http://www.subthump.atfreeweb.com and putting it where my changer sits, once I swap out that monsoon deck with my fauthful Alpine.
Just remember: With higher watts, you need BIG wire. I never use 14AWG fot anything that's amplified, much less the actual power wire or ground.
According to here: http://www.maxxsonics.com/crunch/con...mps_pzone.html
Your amp should do 800x1 @ 4Ω. Consider bridging your speakers to mono @ 4Ω, maybe that will help, I don't know. I dont' know how the Power One relates to the Powerzone, but if they're anything alike, it should be making you go deaf dude!
Example: I was riding through town and my stereo made my rear view mirror vibrate off! Left the metal clip up on the windshield and everything.
Hope this helps some.
