Who makes brighter headlights??

Who makes brighter headlights??
for Trans Ams? These things are not bright enough for these dark country roads in my area? I don't want to upgrade to HID's necessarily, just something better than factory. Thanks.

Re: Who makes brighter headlights??
One thing you might want to look into is a mod you can get from www.stranoparts.com. Apparently when you go to your highbeams it shuts off your low beams. His mod keeps the low beams on with the high beams. that might help alot also. I am thinking of getting this one here soon.

I think this is what you really want www.autooptiks.com a lot closer to HIDS than the Strano mod, and a lot cheaper than HIDs.

NataSS Inc: The car in question is a Firebird/TA, all 4 of their headlamps stay on with the high beams.
If you have a Camaro and wish all four lamps on with highbeams, then go to my website. At the bottom of the 1st page, I have a table contents that will tell you which page to go to for a free mod to do what you want.
I also have a mod to allow the foglamps to run when the high beams are on if you like. Again, a super easy and free mod.
This foglamp mod works on the Pontiacs too from what I understand, but the wire colors might be slightly different. The principle is the same though and it should be easy to figure out.
The foglamps on with the high beams are nice because the foglamps send a 'glow' into the ditches right the critters eyes can be seen, giving them away and allowing you a little warning before they jump out. It helps out here in the cornfields of MN anyway...
Good luck
Dave

Re: Who makes brighter headlights??

here is a comparison pic

cost was like $14 total for the 2 bulbs.

I use sylvania silverstars in my 99 S-10. My girlfriend lives out in the country and they light up the roads when there aren't any street lights around. Got to be able to see the deer before they run out in front of ya.

Yeah, Frigging SunPass does u no good on the west toll booth, cause there's no dedicated lane for it. Also, do you have a page for your 'bird? So that way I know when I see u.

Re: Who makes brighter headlights??
Headlight bulbs, yes. They are PIAA's Superwhite 9005 and 9006 bulbs that replace the stock (Sylvania, GE or whatever) 9005 & 9006 bulbs.
The driving lights are a completely different set of lights from the Blazer pencil beam driving lights that come stock on Camaro's.
Seeing as though you have a T/A, I thought you had sealed beam lamps for your headlights, in which case you can't buy the halogen capsule like we Camaro guys do. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
Your driving lights are most likely 889, 895 or 896 bulbs which I have yet to find a PIAA, Catz, or other superwhite replacement. If you want to brighten your driving lights, you're gonna have to replace the stock ones with aftermarket units because of this.

Re: Who makes brighter headlights??
I've gotten them both from local vendors as well as online.
I think my last set which went into my 2500HD I got at www.performanceproducts.com
You don't need to put your car in necessarily. All you need are 9005 (high's) & 9006 (low's) bulbs.
The driving lights I got from a local vendor, but I picked a set of PIAA 1100x for the G/F's car from T-Byrne.
