the best three amps witch are the only ones I would think of getting would be JL,Rock Ford Fosgate,Sony. I would go with one of those 3 but its just my 2 cents

Boss amps are cheap and they suck. If you've ever held one than you'll know right away that they are very low quality (very light, no parts inside). What are you using the amp for, bass or mids/highs?

Hi... Boss amps are really garbage. There are many great amps out there right now, but they are truely one of those things that you really get what you pay for. Here is a list of some of the better amps on the market.
Pheonix Gold, Zapco, Orion, JL Audio, MMats, Memphis, Rockford, Arc Audio, MTX, and Cross Fire. This is just a few but are some that I can guarentee the quality of the power coming out of them.
If you are on a budget, sony, kenwood, alpine, etc. are ok but you will definately hear the difference in sound quality and definition of the bass.

Get a McIntosh amp.J/K Boss amps really suck ,I had one a while ago and it barely pushed my subs and if you turned the gain up it would heat up and shut off. If your looking for a inexpensive amp ,look into Rockford Fosgate or JBL.

Maybe Im a weird one, but I kinda actually like (gasp!) my Boss. Its not gonna stand up to say, Kicker amps hooked to Kicker L7s, but it holds its own. Ive got the older (Rage) 1200w running two 12" Pioneer subs in a sealed box, and a newer (Ripper) 1200w powering my four 3-way Pioneer 6 3/4" sub/mid/tweets in the doors and sail panels. Ive never overheated, never gotten distortion, never nothing. I dunno, maybe Im just lucky, who knows. What I do know, is that I cant put Boss down under the circumstances Im in. My older 1200 watter has thumped my 12s for about 2 years now without one problem, go figure.

Boss amps will make sound come out of your speakers and might never burn out, but you put that 2400 watts up against my Phoenix Gold 500 watt 4 channel and when you hear the difference in clairity and definition it is worth the extra dough..

I got a boss 1500 what armor amp with 2 12" boss cx122 subs in a ported box.have my amp remote turned up just under half way. Before i got it all hooked up. I read lots of reviews and had very mixed feelings about what i bought. But after it was all hooked up and ready. It was exactly what i was looking for. You wont hear me down the block but you will for sure hear me pull up.Ppl want to throw numbers and stats out there and i get it. But every system you choose has its flaws and its benefits. Every company puffs there stats in some way cuts corners in others. Every company has it's defective product's. Yes you should read up on what you want. And know what kind of sound you are looking for. But after everything is Said and done its all about how it sounds and if it sounds like you want it. And untill you do that its always a risk a educated guess.

And you just had to revive a 14-year-old thread to tell us? ![Winky](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_wink.gif)
It would appear that you were lucky because, regardless of specs, most people have found that Boss amps are not a solid choice for either sound quality or durability. There are always exceptions (there are probably some people who had good experiences with Yugos as well) but in general, unless budget is the number one consideration, there are much better choices.
