Guage Install Question Where is the ignition switch wire that you have to tap into? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
Also, What 12volt source did you tap into for the lightbulb to get them to come on with the rest of the dash lights?

Re: Guage Install Question I just installed a pod in my '01 Z-28, with an AutoMeter mechanical guage. The unit is operational, with the exception of the light. I've heard you can tap into the dimmer switch circuit to hook it up. The back of my dimmer switch has 4 wires coming out of it; 1 Green, 1 Grey, 1 Black, and 1 Brown. Any ideas on which one to slice into to supply power to the bulb?

Re: Guage Install Question Just use a 12v test light. Turn the lights on and probe each wire on the dimmer wheel until you find the one that dims your test light when you operate the dimmer wheel. I just did mine, but don't remember what color the wire was.

Re: Guage Install Question I'll have to confirm this but I think I tapped into the #9 and #16 fuses on the panel inside the door. One is the power to the instrument cluster and the other is the dimmer.

Thanks for the tip. I was able test each individual wire on back of the dimmer switch with a 12V test light. The connector on the back of the switch has a plastic cover that that unsnaps to gain access to each of the 4 wires. I was able to trace the "dimmed" instrument panel wire with this method. Thank again.

P.S. It was the green wire.
