Good headunit that is flat and turns black when power is off? I want a headunit that looks very clean with the car turned off (flat and turns black when the power is off). So, basically digital face and no *****. Money is a concern. Thanks guys!

They were discontinued this year so you can probably find it on ebay. It had dual illumination (amber or green)

Re: Good headunit that is flat and turns black when power is off? I have a friend with a T/A with the Alpine cda-857 he has been trying to sell it, I'll ask him if he still has it. Just to let you know it went for around $600 brand new and he wants to get rid of it for around $400.

Re: Good headunit that is flat and turns black when power is off? I used to sell car audio and am impressed with the low cost and great sound quality of the JVC. You can get it for about $260.00 I installed it in my 2002 WS6 with the monsoon system. I did not need to keep the head unit in the car......advise given to me by some "experts".
