well there is always the walmart special. It is okay but it sticks out so far that i keep busting my knuckles on the radio while i was shifting. I got the one i have now from circuit city and it works just fine nothing fancy just plane mount.

20 bucks for a POS plastic mount kit that sticks the HU half way out the dash or about 65 bucks for a very nice HUmount.com unit. My vote is for the HUmount.com

Another vote for HUMount If you're gonna do it - do it right. They offer custom text that can be lit up in various colors. The owner Mark is a great guy to work with.

Just ordered mine...

if you get the "cheap" Metra brand it mounts flush. it's the Shoshe or whatever from wal-mart that sticks out. Metra can be found at checkers, kragen, shucks, etc.. basically at an autopart store.

How is not getting a humount not doing it right? Maybe someone cant justify $60 when they can pay $10 for a flush metra exactly the same minus some engraving.

I was comparing the HUMount to the style adapter that was first mentioned that had the HU sticking way out of the dash.

By all means - if you want a $10 adapter - go for it. My car has a lot of custom one -off details in/on it, and for me a plain plastic adapter just don't cut it...

BTW, my HUMount was more than $60 with the custom light up logo that I wanted.

the oldsmobile kit does not stick out, it is flush, exactly like the HUmount minus the engraving, and minus the $60+ price tag
