Window motor????
Window motor???? I am pretty sure my window motor is gone bad. I was leaving school today and rolled it down and it got stuck down. I waited a few minutes and i tried to roll it up and it rolled all the way up successfully. Then i tried to roll it down again and it wouldnt move. It works periodically, but it just seems like it runs out of juice and you have to let it sit for a few minutes before it works again. Is this the window motor or the window switch? I am confident its the motor, but i wanted some outside help to make sure i am correct. Also where would be the cheapest place to get a new window motor?

Mine did the same thing earlier this summer. I bought a new motor but hesitated putting it in because I'm not real mechanically inclined. Well, after feeling like a dork running around with my top down and my windows up I dived into it last weekend. Took me an hour tops and works like a charm now. I wish I wouldn't have put it off so long, that and a shop quoted me $250 to do it...

Yeah that sounds like a bad motor. Mine did that same thing months ago but because of school and a little hesitation about fixing the problem myself I just got to it yesterday. It was a lot easier than I thought

. Window motors are on ebay motors anywhere from $20.00-$50.00 with shipping. I bought one for $40.00 from ebay and have had no problems with it in the 2 years it's been in. Make sure the one you get is a quality item as this is not something you wanna do again for a long time. It is a P.I.T.A.!!!!!!

I bought a cheaper (supposedly brand new GM replacement) off an ebay store and it's noisy - my advice is to get one locally with a lifetime warranty - if I had done that I would've been able to get a replacement while my door panel was still off...

Verdad Gallardo The one I have is one of the more expensive ones listed on ebay and it works flawlessly. They do tell you to beware of cheaper ones. Mine also carried a lifetime warrantee but I would have to send it off as opposed to taking it to a local store for replacement(drawback). If it last as long as the other one though the car would have like 300,000 miles on it by then.
