$150 Alpine head unit new from the net (find an authorized dealer or a site known to support thier own warranty)

$100 Front coaxials new from the net (same comments as above). At that price I like Infinity or JBL, but you'll get tons of opinions. Listen and find what you like.

$150 Used 4 channel amp from eBay. Plenty of options at that price. Figure 100x4rms. Memphis has nice choices in this range but again, so many opinions, choose your own.

Leaves you ~$200 for a sub setup. I'd try for a used stealthbox or build one myself. Coupes are very efficient, a solid 10" in the right enclosure will sound very good.

Then:

- Install the deck
- Run your fronts off the amp
- Bridge the rear amp channels for your sub
- Delete all of your rear speakers

- If you like rear fill by similar coaxials to the fronts (lower model, perhaps) and run them off your head unit. You could also score a 5 channel used amp instead.

my dad thinks its best that i keep my stock head unit and not buy another one so ill just end up buying the cord. also, my dad and i can build and fabricate our own sub box for about $60 so that wont be much of a problem. do you guys think it would be ok to buy subs/amp off of ebay when they come with no waranty? or would i need a waranty for sure?

dude, that HU is garbage. buy a new one. you can keep the stock. and put it back in if you sell it. there's no modification needed to the car in order to put in a new HU.

Yeah, my dad used to always tell me not to work on my car. Fan in my first car wasn't working, car was overheating... Let my dad convince me to take it to a shop and they charged me $300 to change the fan relay. Then I just started not caring what he had to say when it came to cars.

with a stealth enclosure and eithor get a decent headunit for around 150 or so or you could use the adapter that lets you put subs on the monsoon headunit. Then just run the stock speakers off of the headunit/monsoon amp. Its not the greatest but you will get a lot better sound then the stock stuff will get you.

Definitely not those RFs. Their amps are not too bad but you can do better. Their subs are 'meh.' Sensitivity on that is fairly low, and it likes more room than you're going to get out of a stealth box. A Dayton sub will do better for less.

the 10'' w3v3 4 that comes with the stealthbox calls for 1.138cu. f so that box is plenty big for that p3, but it isnt made for that 12'' thought, if you want to fit a 12 you have to go custom like mine...

a 12'' will not fit in a retail purchased stealth box without extensive cutting... iknow the depth of some 12's will, but id rather have a good jl 10...

like i said, my dad is going to build the box so that will be customized to whatever sub/amp setup i get. the amp off of ebay for 150 looks pretty decent, and the dayton subs also look decent. would those two be a good combo and if so should i get two 10" or one 12" or one 15" sub?

alright thanks guys for all your help, ive decided on two 10" subs and an amp. ill be doing research on some subs and amps to find what would be best for my preferences.

when i use to install we sold this amp and speakers they are callerd coustic not power accoustc i would use a 600watt amp in ant ext cab truck 2 chanels would go to the 4 speakers at a 2 ohm stereo load and the rear would get bridged to the 2 12 jl audio subs for the price of the setup it was loud clear and had damm good bass.we sold jl eclipse boston all we sold was mostly high end equpimet but thoes amp hung with the big boys the are not made cheap.they are a off spring from mtx todd http://www.coustic.com/products/index.cfm

Kicker is IMP the best bang for buck. My 12VRs handle 400watts rms each and only ran me 150/pair. They beat hard as hell
