Default 15A/20A switches in 12VDC (not 125VAC)?

I'm looking for some 12VDC 15A and 20A automotive switches, but I can only find 125VAC switches in that rating. Can I use 15/20A 125VAC switches, or does the 12VDC put a different load on the switch?

You should be fine.

Using a relay might not be a bad idea either.... What's the application?

For switches, you can use a switch rated for any voltage equal to or greater than the voltage you're using. Chances are those switches will be good for at least double that voltage too, but we won't go there.
