Bought an Alpine head unit...is it good?
what would make you think that? The signal sent from the pre amps is not an audible sinal. It just feeds the amps and the amps crossovers take the job from there. You should be running the sub out put to the first sub amp and then using the sub amp outputs to run to the inputs of the 2nd sub amp. Keep the front and rear outputs for the full range amp(s)
My sub amps have RCA stereo inputs and outputs. The front outputs should both go to one sub amp and then the sub amp cross over sends the lows to the first sub and the mids/highs to the main amp that drives the door speakers. The rear HU outputs should go to the other sub amp and then the sub amp cross over sends the lows to the second sub and the mids/highs to the main amp that drives the sail panel speakers. Having the lines go directly from the HU to the sub from the sub out on the HU and sending the front/rear to the main amp can leave a hole or an overlap in frequencies as it is impossible to align all 3 crossovers exactly. Maybe we are saying the same thing but either way I need to rewire for it to be right.
