Not particularly difficult but possibly expensive. You'll need a steering wheel and the airbag slip ring assembly. Then you pull the existing wheel and slip ring, replace them, plug in the new wire, and you're done.

ok so i answered my own question, there is a wire to plug into, now how do i get the old slip ring assembly out and put the new one in? i removed the c clip but there are the wires that go all the way down the column with the air bag connecter on the end.. do i have to remove the cover of the steering column? or what

You have to remove the harness retaining straps and then just pull the harness up through the column. When you install the new ring you route the wires down through the column and then reinstall the retaining straps.

it dosent look like the connector end would go past the scalloped metal ring thats there to lock the steering wheel... does it?

the answer to the question is that you remove the yellow plastic piece from the airbag wire and then slip them through the column after you remove the locking assembly.

took me about 3 hours total to do everything, im glad i did it.

no, no pictures. but its really easy to do. just take steering wheel off, take the clock spring out, put the new one in and thread it down the column and put it all back together.

the "slip spring" aka clockspring is the yellow donut thats in your steering column that has all kinds of air bag warnings on it. dont click it around to many times or itll break. with your finger in the middle, and it off the car, rotate it around till you feel resistance one way, and then go the other way till you find the middle and install it with the wheels straight and the clockspring in the middle of its travel. otherwise when you go to do a full lock one way you could break the clockspring and have an airbag light on and no steering wheel controls
