Default Speakers

What's a very decent quality set of speakers for these cars. I blew one of my back speakers. The one on the drivers side right behind the seat next to the bucket seat. Looking for aftermarket replacements, something decent.

The sticky thread recommends some nice Rockford's, just read that earlier today.

I'm thinking of getting a pair of Kicker SSMB6, they're 6.5" but a carbon fiber cone!

A few years older than your guy's (I'm sure), and a kid who liked to listen to music loud owned it before me, and my subs are fine Of course mine isn't Monsoon, and my subs are 3.25ohm (yes, thats whats stamped on them).

EDIT: Well after reading your post, I thought you had those in the DOOR panel, not in the sail panel. That's why I couldn't see the point in selling them (2-ways) to people who's sail's blew out. I still wouldn't recommend them there.

I can see why they are a bit on the loud side :\ My friend put the tweeters in his truck right up against the rear window on the B-Pillar. I criticized him extensively for that, since it is literally 6inches from your ear

Because they're making your ears bleed? If those are the ones, you're running the mids in the door, not subs like in the rear seat sails. Just... kinda pointing that out >_>
ok I know you are just trying to point that I did not go with a sub in my sail panel configuration, but really wtf is a 6.5" sub good for? thats like some **** that bose would sell you. I put 6.5" mids/woofers in the doors and 6.5 mids/woofers in the sail panels, the tweeters are a component setup up front since I have the monsoon style speaker pods and in the sail panels the tweeters are mounted on the 6.5 mids/woofer (aka 2 way speaker or coaxial)

unless you are going to slice some metal so you can put at least an 8" but more realistically a 10" then subs in the sail panel is just stupid IMO

as far as installing a sub, you can either put a stealth box in the hatch, use the bottom of the hatch well, remove the back seat etc.....

and I good luck sound deadening the inside of the sail panel, so you car does vibrate like hell with a sail panel sub installed.

but to answer your question
yes these are the speakers in reference but no my ears have never actually bleed from listening to them
with my 440 Watt JL amp, these speakers are a little piercing to my ears and the gain is not even turned all the way up

anyways though these speakers are only a couple weeks old and if interested let me know

I've got Eclipse 6-1/2" 3-Way (SE8365). They sound pretty good. I also thought that speaker was blown, when I first bought my car, but that was not the case. When I put in the new speaker I was still getting that "blown" sound. But, it just so happens that the metal in the panel rattles like a ****, so plan on buying some sound deadning mats to go in there-that made a HUGE difference for me.
