Default Infinity Kappa 6.27i tweeter level switch?

Just soldered up the first Infinity replacement for my
car and found the tweeter has a 0 / +3dB (what hype,
it can only attenuate, or not, by the resistor; I guess
-3dB / 0 isn't as "sexy") switch in the tweeter cover.

Anyone who's played with it, which is a better "natural"
fit to the rest of the system, for that setting? Just
looking to avoid pulling the door panel twice.

I set mine for 0db but they still made my ears bleed. Now, I didn't have a sub and I replaced both the fronts and the sails with the Kappa's but after about 60 miles I decided to gut the whole system and sold the Kappa's. Again, with a sub maybe they wouldn't have sounded as bright but holy cow were they bright without a sub!

I have the 6.37's in my blazer along with matching 5 1/4 in the rear doors.I can't really notice a difference, maybe its because they are down by my feet.Or maybe its the 2 type r 12's and 2000 watts rms hifonics that drown them out .I have all 4 infinitys ran off a hifonics zxi 6406 (170 watts rms x 4 @ 2ohms) and I LOVE IT.

Usually with Infinity stuff, the tweeters are bright. Depends on where you installed the tweeter will determine how loud they may be.

To be safe, you can attenuate them 3 dB and be good.

I'm not too sure on the +3 dB thing myself.

I put the one in at the 0 setting and it's still plenty
"bright". Might ought to put another ohm or two in
line with it just to settle it down. Next time I'm in
there. For now I think I'll just turn down the treble.
Sure does cut through the wind noise better though.

Can't you adjust them by just taking the speaker cover off and turning the tweeter?

They only have 2 settings 0db (ear piercing) and +3db (ear bleeding) the resistor should roll it off even more. I know these things get great reviews but wow, 60 miles for me and they had to go. I will admit I'm kind of an audio snob though. I did manage to keep the Monsoon system for 2 years which was painful for me
