Default Monsoon skips

Hey guys, Im having a problem with the stock monsoon stereo skipping the burned cds ive been making. They play fine in the other car, but wont stop skipping in the 2002 camaro. Anyone have any suggestions? I was going to get a sound system, but I dont want one this soon.

Do you have skipping problems with prerecorded CDs you bought? If not then it's probably the CD-Rs you're using. Monsoon head units can be fussy about certain brands and types of CD-Rs and they won't play CD-RWs well (if at all).

I can play any CD-R in the head. The changer won't
play the cheapos at all but is fine with better grade,
darker dye ones like Maxell CD-R Pro.

Man, you're lucky. Mine would play Fuji discs great but had big problems with Maxell. Also, recording speed makes a difference - discs recorded between 8x and 12x work better than when recorded at the top speed of the recorder.
