Default Auto cruise control?

This came to me this weekend when I was driving. I remember before I put my car in storage, sometimes the cruise control would turn on if I stayed at a steedy MPH. It only did this to me two-three times in the summer on the highways.

This happen to anyone else, or is my car possessed?

I leave my cruise control in the "off" position (I never use it) so this has never happened to me. Are you sure you aren't leaving it "armed" and accidentally tapping the button on the end of the stalk?

I have it "on" and would have it set for 75mph, but traffic would slow down or something so I would tap the brakes, so it was "armed". Only when I would stay at 75MPH would it turn on, after some time will I feel the pedal move away from my foot, and behold the cruise is on.

The few times it's done it, it wasn't any problem. It seems like it doesn't matter what the speed is, or what it was set at. Just seemed like if I kept the car at a certian MPH for so long, it would turn on.

Sounds like you might need to exorcise your T/A man. Weird.

If you are concerned about it causing a possible accident or something, I would suggest possibly buying a new multi-function switch? Sounds like maybe something is loose...?

I'm not worried about it, just wondered if it happened to anyone else.
